Rules Of Engagement

As you can tell from the title of this blog, I am now officially engaged! We are both super excited and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with Aaron. If you hadn't heard the story yet, I'm just going to do a quick recap:

On Thursday the 24th of January, Aaron came to pick me up early from work to take me to dinner. We started to drive to the airport and I started to become suspicious. He than said, "Don't be mad, but we're going on a trip and I am not going to tell you where. I have packed you a suitcase and our flight leaves in an hour". He didn't tell me where we were going until we got to the gate. We flew to Salt Lake City and he said we had reservations for dinner at 9:30. He drove us somewhere in the mountains and said that maybe he took the wrong turn and we were lost(which happens quite a bit with us). We happened to end up somewhere near the mountains. It was the 'This is The Place Monument', and we climbed up the monument at night in 20 degree weather,it was so freezing! As we looked out over the Salt Lake Valley he said, " When Brigham Young looked out over this desolate valley, he saw such a great future and potential and that is how I see us. I see such a great future with you and we have so much potential to make a happy marriage if we work at it". Than we looked over at the mountains and he added," With every mountain, there are low points called valleys. With every low or hard time we go through we have to remember and enjoy our high and fun times". And than we got down on one knee and said," Michelle, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me"? And of course i said yes!

The next day Aaron paid for me to go to a spa and get a 70 minute pedicure and a 60 minute massage. It was so nice and it was much needed. We stayed with friends that we hung out with in Arizona last year. It was so much fun and i am so excited to start planning and getting this show on the road. If you have any marriage advice or wedding reception/dinner advice; let me know.

California Dreamin'

This past weeeknd I was able to spend some time with Aaron and his family in San Francisco. I was so nervous to meet the rest of his family, but they were so sweet and I had a lot of fun. Aaron and I went to The Nutcracker saturday afternoon. We had great seats and Aaron stayed awake the whole time, I was way impressed. On New Years Eve, we took Aaron's neices to the Oakland Zoo. We saw all kinds of cool animals and it was neat for Aaron and I to play parents for an afternoon. It was busy and we were way exhausted after the outing, so it was nice to be able to hand them off to their mom. We stayed up almost every night and played games, which was fun. We played Blokus, spped scrabbel, scattergories, and i got a little peek into the intense game of Rook. I didn't play , but i shadowed Aaron. I think i may need some practice, but the next time I see them, they will be impressed.
I had so much fun with Aaron and his family and I hope that all of you can meet them sometime soon :)
